The Magpies remain on their home deck for tomorrow's round six encounter against Karramomus and enter with plenty of confidence following the memorable victory.
Euroa recorded a brilliant four-wicket win over the Jets — the club's first win in the Haisman Shield in more than 12 months — following a superb batting display from its two Sri Lankan imports.
Century-maker Mahesh Priyadarshana (100 runs) and teammate Sham Dadallage (54) were instrumental in chasing down the Jets’ total of 207.
Before the prized imports were able to go to town on the opposition bowlers, Euroa's bowling team — spearheaded by talented junior Fletcher Paul (2-23) — did well to manage the threats of Northerners’ batting line-up.
Meanwhile, Karramomus will be out to rebound from its disappointing eight-wicket loss to Shepparton United.
Speaking after the win against the Jets, Euroa captain Sean Hemeter praised the efforts of the club's emerging bowler and the star imports.
“It was really pleasing to see the two imports play at a really high level,” Hemeter said.
“And youngster Fletcher Paul bowled really well alongside Shami with the new ball.”
Hemeter added he was impressed with his side's performance in the field, following the previous round's effort against Nagambie.
“I thought our fielding was strong,” he said.
“We didn't leak as many runs against Northerners like what Nagambie did to us a few weeks back.”
