Yarroweyah looks to even ledger against Katunga in PDFL

Yarroweyah is looking to bounce back from last week's loss to Jerilderie when it tackles Katunga away from home in round seven of Picola District Football League.

The Grasshoppers are currently sitting in ninth position with a 2-3 record and play eighth-placed Katunga, which is looking for its fourth win of the campaign.

Yarroweyah coach Keegan Oliver said his team needed to improve its mindset going into Saturday's clash.

“It was a disappointing effort from our boys last week,” Oliver said.

“But it was a good effort from Jerilderie for having a crack throughout the game.

“We have got to bounce back against Katunga this week.

“Like us, they are very keen to make finals and they will give it their all.

“Across the board, we need to come with the correct mindset, which we didn’t have last week.”

Despite the loss, Oliver was pleased with the match of one of his young charges.

“Tommy Oliver is our youngest player coming up from the thirds and he was leading the way,” he said.

Jerilderie will be looking to end Berrigan's undefeated streak, when they do battle at Jerilderie.

Demons co-coach Chris Marshall said his team was looking forward to the challenge of playing the Saints.

“Obviously, they are going really well and haven't lost one yet, so it will be a good test for our guys and we are looking forward to it,” Marshall said.

Marshall praised the efforts of his younger players this season.

“Our younger guys, Brad Aylett, Rory Knight and Ben Neessen have come a long way in their first year of senior footy,” he said.

“Their competitiveness and hardness for young guys has been impressive and it's surprised me how well they have taken up senior footy.”

In the round's other match-ups, Katamatite will be looking to bounce back from its first loss of the season when it battles Deniliquin Rovers, Katandra and Picola United will face off at Katandra, Mathoura hosts Strathmerton, which is coming off the bye, Tungamah will make the trip to Rennie, while third will play third last when Waaia goes up against Tocumwal.

Blighty has the bye.
