Tongala ticked off a hot-ticket item that to this point it hadn’t yet achieved — take a scalp of a team inside the Murray Netball League top six.
The Blues did just that with a resounding win against Mulwala at the weekend to extend their unbeaten streak to six.
The third-vs-sixth clash belonged entirely to Tongala, who knocked off the Lions on its home court to the tune of 55-33.
The 22-goal win marks yet another strong showing for the Blues, who now find themselves on a roll in A-grade netball.
Tongala has not dropped a game since round six — a 45-52 defeat to Moama — and coupled with a drawn result against Nathalia just two weeks ago, the Blues will head into the bye as one of the form teams in the competition.
But once round 13 comes knocking, the Blues will take Murray netball’s ultimate litmus test in Deniliquin.
Despite a narrow one-goal escape against Moama on Saturday, the Rams remain undefeated and have swept aside all-comers so far in 2022.
It will be a stern test of Tongala’s character and premiership credentials, but Paige Wade’s side will back itself as a chance against the league’s best when competition resumes.
