Fighting out of the state capital’s Team Ellis Gym, the pugilist known as “Kid Brook” demonstrated that he is a force to be reckoned with on the big stage during his outing at the “Pretender to Contender” event on July 11.
Cheered on by his loyal army of fans who had made the 200km trip down from the Goulburn Valley, the 23-year-old did not disappoint as he dispatched of his opponent in the third round of the contest.
After dominating Deniz during the first couple of rounds, Andresen’s relentless offensive proved too much for his adversary, as his corner eventually threw in the towel to hand the Shepparton youngster the triumph.
After earning a technical knockout (TKO), “Kid Brook” was officially handed the win as his arm was lifted aloft by the referee, sparking rapturous celebrations from his family and friends watching on ringside.
The highly rated star announced himself on the professional scene with a unanimous points decision victory over Emirhan Cosar back in May, as he delivered on the promise he had demonstrated at amateur level.
“It was good, he sold two or three tables and he loved having his parents there for this one,” step-dad Peter Ryan said after watching the fight down in Melbourne.
“It was awesome, we went in to see him just before the fight and gave him a hug, wished him all the best and told him to ‘be smart’ - he said ‘I’ve got this’ so he was confident of the victory.
“He was fighting a pretty experienced kickboxer who has had 20 or 30 kickboxing fights, a dangerous opponent so Brooklyn did really well as the other team threw the towel in.
“He was a bit more relaxed, he took it slow and smart, didn’t tire himself out and went at a good pace where he was able to reserve some energy for the later rounds.
“He’d said he was going to stop him in the fourth round and he ended up stopping him in the third, so he was very happy with his performance and everyone else was as well.”
Brooklyn Andresen's arrival on the professional scene has been an unbridled success.
It has been an astounding rise to prominence for Andresen, who emerged under the tutelage of the late Dwight Ritchie during his teenage years growing up in Shepparton.
There is no doubt that Andresen is already establishing a legacy of his own in his hometown, with fans attending the GV Hotel for a screening of his fight with Deniz over the weekend.
“It was great that the GV showed the live stream and sponsored him as well,” Ryan said.
“It’s great to see all the support in Shepparton, 95 per cent of his sponsorship comes from Shepparton businesses, and it helps him a lot.
“The support from the community, including the MP Sam Birrell, is great as Brooklyn is a proud Shepp boy.“
Having walked out alongside 11-year-old brother Ethan Ryan before the Deniz bout, Andresen made sure to express his gratitude towards his fans and backers back in Shepparton after he was declared the winner.
Taking to social media after his victory, Andresen was naturally pleased as punch, as he looks forward to his next fight, which is due to be staged in December.
“2.0, smiles all round” he said.
“Thank you to everyone for your support, it truly means the world to me - time to rest up and go again soon.
“Big thank you again to my amazing sponsors for this fight.”
After appearing on a star-studded card alongside household names including Lucas Miller, Ko Zna Zna, Mitch Leek and Toan Pham, it appears that “Kid Brook” has come of age on the professional stage.
