The Shepparton and District Ladies Midweek Tennis Association has celebrated its summer-autumn season with a presentation day at Bill & Beat’s.

The premiers from across the divisions, as well as an Orchard Award for two tennis troopers, were handed out at the luncheon.
In the Tuesday A-grade competition, Shepparton Lawn White narrowly defeated Kialla Park on games won, 3-31 to 3-22.
Kialla Park had finished two points ahead of Shepparton Lawn White on the ladder, but the latter proved best when it mattered most.
Tuesday’s A1 division saw St Andrews claim the premiership after a dominant season, defeating Byrneside 5-33 to 1-20, and were presented with their championship award at the luncheon on June 25.
Thursday’s pennant grade premier was Shepparton Lawn Opal, with a 4-28 to 2-25 defeat over Shepparton Lawn Aqua a scintillating match.
Minor premier Lemnos was stunningly bundled out in straight sets as the Shepparton Lawn club rivals reached another level in the finals, with Aqua squeezing into the grand final after winning its semi and preliminary finals by a combined four-game margin.
In Thursday A-grade, a top of the table grand final between St Andrews Green and Grahamvale was won by the former, 5-33 to 1-24.
Meanwhile in the A1 division, Tatura Lawn claimed the Thursday night flag after beating ladder leaders St Brendan’s 4-30 to 2-20.
Pauline Pettigrew and June Hicks were also presented an award at the function, receiving the Orchard Award for playing over the age of 80.
