A number of teams from the region descended on Albury for the annual event.
Squads from the Goulburn Valley League, Murray Netball League, Shepparton Netball Association and Picola District league got the chance to showcase their talents against their fellow North-East Victoria rivals.
Although the GVL was unable to walk away with a win from any of its travelling teams, the league’s 15-and-under contingent came close to saluting.
The 15-and-under age group, coached by Mooroopna A-grader Bree Hanslow, along with assistant coaches Meagan Harrison and Sue Egan, fell at the last hurdle to Albury Netball Association.
The GVL suffered a 15-7 defeat in the grand final.
Despite the eight-goal loss, the 15-and-under outfit now heads to the Association Championship finals later this year.
The 15-and-under squad consisted of Paige Simpson (Echuca), Amani Issell, Claudia Plattfuss (Mooroopna), Madison Pearse, Matisse Martin (Rochester), Sophie Munro (Seymour), Mackenzie O’Dwyer, Montanna Burke (Shepparton), Brianna Turner, Gabby Moore, Jaylah Meda and Rubi Diffey (Shepparton Swans).
In the other grades, the 17-and-under team was unable to get the job done against Ovens and Murray in the semi-final and suffered an 18-8 defeat.
Meanwhile, Murray Netball League’s 13-and-under team triumphed over Wodonga in the grand final.
Murray pencilled in a commanding 20-9 victory to book a spot in the finals.
