Taking home one rink apiece and playing out a draw in the third, it was Raymond Hill’s squad that turned the clash in Wunghnu’s favour, prevailing 25-14 to ensure the reigning premiers came away with the victory.
Strathmerton came away with its second win of the season, outlasting Numurkah 14-55 to 2-52 in a tight encounter at Numurkah Bowls Club.
Mick Ryan (21-14) and Peter Young (23-16) would come away with crucial wins for the visitors, while the efforts of Donald Staggard (22-11) in rink one were almost enough to see Numurkah claim a come-from-behind victory.

In Campaspe Playing Area division one action, Rochester claimed its first win of the season with a thrilling 12-53 to 4-52 triumph over Tongala.
Shaping as its best chance to get on to the winners’ list in season 2021-22, Rochester would lose two of the three rinks, but a crushing 24-13 win for Mervyn Harvey in rink three would prove enough to bring home that crucial first victory.
Echuca remained perfect for the season, enjoying a convincing 16-65 to 0-47 win over second-placed Deniliquin.
In what was very much a statement game, Echuca was dominant from the word go, sweeping all three rinks as it solidified as premiership favourites.
Rich River rounded out the winners’ list with a comfortable 14-69 to 2-50 triumph over Mathoura.
Peter Nesbitt was the star, steering a 24-11 win in rink three, while Jason McCloy was also impressive, leading a 26-18 win.
