Bruinier started her career at the Swans in 2003 as a 16-year-old and played in a grand final in her first season.
After a season at the Bears, Bruinier left to continue her studies before returning to the Swans in 2010 and played in another grand final.
In 2011 she returned to the big dance, this time in B-grade.
The following year she was playing coach of the B-grade premiership side.
That year, she also won the club's B-grade best-and-fairest and was runner-up in the league award, despite missing six games throughout the season.
Her success continued in 2013 when she stepped up to coach the A-grade team and helped break a 22-year premiership drought.
Over Bruinier’s playing career she has represented the league on a number occasions including 2004 and 2005 then again in 2017 and 2018.
Bruinier joked that the milestone meant she was a "netball tragic".
“In all honesty there is a definite sense of achievement and one I thought possibly wouldn’t happen especially after rupturing my Achilles in 2019,” she said.
“I can blame or thank Annie Cobbledick for twisting my arm to return this season.”
Bruinier said she had made many life-long friendships during her time in the sport.
“The sense of community that comes with being involved in a club (is something I have enjoyed),” she said.
“The relationships you form, I’ve been lucky to make lots of life-long friends in my time at Swans.
“And challenging my netball to a higher level representing the league (has also been a highlight).”
On the other side, Kyabram coach Sara Pettifer will be hoping for a response after last week's 26-48 loss to Rochester.
“It was an extremely disappointing start to the season,” Pettifer said.
“Given the long weekend we had a few away, but there’s no excuse for that.
“It made it difficult in the heat not having subs and those players on the bench to help support, but in saying that we were beaten by a much better side on the day.
“There’s lots of positives we can take out of the game, but certainly many things that we can get back on the track and focus on and hopefully improve for this week.
“It’s pretty deflating to finish with the score like that after being so excited to start the season.”
