Instead, a public service will take place in the Queen’s Gardens on Sunday, April 21.
There’s no fire, flood, or COVID-19 pandemic-related reason, which the church has previously endured in its 13-year history in the region.
Lead Pastor Todd Hall said the decision to hold the service outdoors was part of the church’s mission to reach out and connect with the community.
“It’s an opportunity for anyone to hear what the church is about, which is to connect and grow people in Jesus,” he said.
The Christian church was established in 2011 and has a congregation of about 120 people.
Pastor Hall said they would not be at the gardens to “badger anyone” but would be available to answer questions about their church and the Christian faith.
Just as home is where the heart is, a holy place is wherever the flock meets to worship.
On Sunday, that place will be the park.
Service in the Park will be held in the Queen's Gardens, Shepparton, on Sunday, April 21, at 10am.
The service will be followed by a free barbecue lunch, a coffee van, and face painting for the children.
