Last week’s Finley LHAC annual general meeting also elected Nola Pinnuck and Helen McRae as co-vice chair, Keith Haidle was appointed communications officer, and Jennifer McAllister is secretary.
Other Finley LHAC members are Dr Alam Yoosuff, Cheryl Bodycoat, John Taylor and Jeffrey Ward.
Mr Dudley, who was awarded the NSW Health Volunteer of the Year Award in 2023 for his health advocacy over many years; tabled the annual year in review and spoke of the advocacy work the LHAC had achieved throughout the year, particularly in relation to the plans and redevelopment of the Finley Hospital and awareness in the aged care and dementia space.
In 2024, Finley LHAC will continue to play a pivotal role in advocating for health in the community and looks forward to working with Tocumwal and Berrigan LHACs to advocate for health across the Berrigan Shire.
“Our aim will be to improve communication about health services in our area, and part of our role as advocates is to ensure community needs are communicated to health providers,” Mr Dudley said.
“We would like local people to feel they can come and talk to us about their concerns and provide feedback so we can communicate these issues effectively with health service providers.”
Finley is one of nearly 30 LHACs across the Murrumbidgee region, all advocating for better health outcomes and representing the needs of their community.

LHACs play a key role in forming a link between the community and the health service and are a valued part of the Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) and the Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) team.
