The club was founded early last year by 26-year-old local Bryce Tremellen to create a safe and inclusive community for car enthusiasts — particularly the younger generation — while promoting responsible driving practices.
This Saturday, Midnight Cartel will host a cruise where a convoy of “clean rides” will travel from Shepparton North to The Depot in Deniliquin, stopping at the Cruizin Diner for food and photo opportunities.
The Depot is a family-friendly tourist attraction that showcases transport history, while the Cruizin Diner is a 1950s-themed diner.
Mr Tremellen said the club emphasised putting safety first during the cruise, and at all of its events, urging participants to adhere to all road rules and speed limits, with no reckless driving or excessive engine revving tolerated.
“Our club is firmly anti-hooning and aims to create a positive environment where members can share their passion for all vehicles in a respectful manner,” Mr Tremellen said.
There is no formal sign-up to become a club member. Rather, participation in its events — which include car meets, cruises, charity drives and social gatherings centred around the appreciation of vehicles — is key.
“Anyone who shares a passion for cars and respects our community guidelines is welcome to join us at Midnight Cartel events,” Mr Tremellen said.
“All car enthusiasts are welcome to showcase their vehicles at our meets and join our cruises regardless of the vintage of their cars, we love seeing everyone’s unique tastes across a range of vehicles.”
Mr Tremellen said he’d like to see Midnight Cartel grow in the community with larger events and collaborations with other car clubs and local businesses to foster a supportive network of car enthusiasts.
If you’d like to join Midnight Cartel’s cruise to Deniliquin this Saturday, the motorcade will depart KFC at Shepparton North at 9am on Saturday.
