Ms Hutchinson, 31, was looking forward to a trip on the Murray River during what is her first trip Down Under.
“I’m from County Durham in England and never been to Australia before,” Ms Hutchinson said.
“We arrived on Sunday evening and it has been a great trip so far.
“This is a really picturesque area and for me coming from the north of England, this weather is warm for me.
“I’ve never been on a paddle steamer before, so it should be good fun.”
Ms Hutchinson, who won the Northern Ireland Open in 2019 and 2021 Welsh Open, is one of the leading international players chasing a share of the $80,000 prize money purse this week.
“My form probably leading in hasn’t been the best, but hopefully with a great positive atmosphere it will spur me on to perform well,” she said.
In addition to the ride on the paddle steamer, the darts aces enjoyed some chocolate tasting, wine tasting and the chance to check out the local shops.
The Australian Darts Open Tournament runs through to Saturday, August 6, with the finals on from 12 noon at Moama Sports Club.
Admission is free.
