Treat your mum this Mother's Day with a flower or a bear.

Building on the success of its Easter pop-up store, the Shepparton Wanganui Lions Club has returned to sell orchids and small teddy bears for mums this Mother's Day.

President Margaret Stewart said the club’s first store, held on Easter Sunday in late March, was a sold-out success.

“It was just beautiful,” Mrs Stewart said.

“We sold out after an hour and three quarters on the day — it was so lovely.

“It’s a service for the community, and we thought it might be nice for people to give their mum an orchid on Mother’s Day.”

The club will have the orchids and bears available in front of the Shepparton cemetery on Sunday, May 12, from 9am to 11am.

Mrs Stewart, who is also president of the Shepparton Public Cemetery Trust, said the bears and flowers would be sold for $5, cash only, with all proceeds going to a good cause.

“The money is going back into various parts of the community because that’s where the money comes from,” she said.
