A cyclist was taken to hospital after a collision between her bike and a car on Wednesday, March 27.
Shepparton police Sergeant Josh McCabe said a car leaving a Goulburn Valley Health car park on Numurkah Rd, Shepparton, and the cyclist collided about 3.30pm.
Sgt McCabe said the bike was being ridden in the bike lane on the wrong side of the road at the time of the crash — with it travelling north on the south-bound side of the road.
The car was turning south from the car park into Numurkah Rd, opposite Grutzner Ave.
The 37-year-old woman riding the bike was knocked to the ground in the crash and received a head wound but was conscious and able to talk to police, according to Sgt McCabe.
Sgt McCabe said the woman driving the car stopped and rendered assistance to the cyclist.
The cyclist was taken to GV Health by ambulance with upper body injuries.
