Think no further, with Tatura’s annual art show running from Friday, June 5 to Monday, June 8 at Victory Hall.
Twenty years ago, proud Tatura Rotarian Tony Mason had the idea of putting this art show together after seeing many other Rotary clubs doing them.
Now his legacy continues.
Art show committee member Rhonda Rose says the money raised from the art show will be donated to various causes.
“We have donated to emergency services relief like the floods and fires recently,” she said.
“The Rotary will divvy up all the money and decide on an organisation to donate it to.”
The weekend will begin with a gala opening, giving guests the chance to be first in to buy their favourite pieces of art. Entry for the opening night can be purchased at the door.
Gala guests can also expect hot finger food and bar drinks alongside live entertainment, with local jazz trio The 3 of Us, Rachael Howard, Wade Gregory and Brain Matthews, performing.
For the remainder of the weekend, entry to the art show is capped at $5 from 10am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday and 10am to 2pm on Monday.
Victoria Hall’s on-site café will also be open to attendees all weekend.
Raffle tickets are being sold for a chance to be in the running to win the big prize, made by Murchison artist Marianne Scarvelis.
The event marks 17 years of the Tatura Rotary Community Art Show and will feature over 400 diverse pieces available for purchase across the weekend.
Rhonda says this is one to mark in the calendar.
“If you’re wondering what you are going to do that long weekend, come along and spend some time with us,” she said.
