Ardmona's Recreation Reserve will be a music spectacular as an action-packed line-up of artists, auctions, food and fun will come together to raise money for terminally ill local Johno Bentancourt.
Doctors diagnosed the 23-year-old with a rare form of cancer in September and after three different rounds of failed chemotherapy he was given three months to live just days before Christmas.
However, his family are exhausting every last option to give the kind and courageous young man the chance to live the life he deserves and have found an expensive clinical trial in the United States to try.
All money raised on Saturday will go straight towards funding Johno's potentially life-saving experimental treatment.
After weeks of planning, the event will be a showstopper, with plenty of things to do for the whole family.
Ship of Fools, Jessica Lorraine, Tom Harrington Music and Santa Fe are just a few of the big names from the jammed packed line-up of stars to get people out of their chairs.
With the sun expected to shine, family and friends will have no excuse not to get together, pack a picnic, roll out their blankets and settle in for a day to remember.
Although BYO food and drinks is allowed, there will be beer, wine, coffee, Mr D, hot roast rolls, cakes and lasagne available.
While adults head to the massage tent and chill-out zone, the little ones will be delighted with face painting, snow cones and a jumping castle.
A trip to Bali, hot-air balloon ride, Yarra Valley escape, jewellery, beauty vouchers, legendary football memorabilia and much more, will be auctioned off on the day.
More than 50 raffle prizes will be up for grabs thanks to generous donations from the community.
The event will be held this Saturday, February 15, from 11 am to 6 pm, and tickets cost $50.
For more information or to book a ticket phone Kate on 0409 396 138 or visit the Facebook page A Day on the Field — Johno’s Fundraiser.
