Chewy is short for Chewbacca, with the dalmation-cross-kelpie the sweetest, most affectionate boy going round.
He’s house and toilet trained, and will even knock on the door to let you know he needs to go to the toilet.
This energetic pooch knows “sit” and “stay”, but might not be able to pilot your spaceship just yet, and can also get bouncy and jump up when he wants attention, meaning he might not be suited to a home with small children.
Children over the age of 10, though, would be perfect to help wear down his energetic legs and wriggly tail — although he is a bit unsure about other dogs.
Chewy lived with cats at his old home, so he should be fine around them. Overall, Chewy is a well-behaved little guy, who is eager to please.
He can get a little over-excited but calms quickly and has a beautiful nature.
If you believe Chewy would be a great addition to your family, please complete the online adoption questionnaire with attached photos of your yard, and a shelter officer will be in contact if successful to organise a meet and greet.
Chewy’s adoption fee is $360, and includes vet check, vaccination, desexing, and microchip identification.
