Tungamah 31 defeated by Katunga 33.
The girls had a physical and tough game on the weekend. Starting off strong taking the lead early with the shooters playing well and hitting their shots and rebounds.
With the defence end sticking nice and tight to their players giving them no room to move causing lots of turnovers.
Unfortunately, the girls seemed to lose their heads in the last quarter and Katunga ran away with the lead.
The girls fought hard for the whole 15 minutes to try take the lead back with the defence end working overtime to try cause turnovers and the attackers trying to work it into the shooters.
However, Katunga were just too strong in the end.
Awards: Chloe Elliott – Tungamah Hotel and Keely Holcombe – Free as a Bird.
B Grade
Tungamah 43 defeated Katunga 39.
The Bears come up against a strong Katunga side, but Tungamah was determined and played as a team to take the lead in the last.
The Bears pushed hard on what was a pretty hot day and really ran the game out well.
As a team the B Grade combined well with all 8 players standing up. They worked off each other, timed play well and backed each other up. The team look forward to continuing to build.

C Reserve
Tungamah 18 defeated by Katunga 26.
The C Res started the game with a great mindset after winning the toss.
With the first centre pass the Bears moved the ball down the court just like they practice at training but with a missed goal, Katunga took the opportunity to get the first score on the board.
Katunga had Tungamah working out pretty quick and had great defensive pressure.
The Tungamah girls did a great job of resetting rather than forcing the passes and kept their head up and went for every ball.
Ankles were rolling all over the place with a nervous Sally waiting/ hoping not to be needed to go on; it was a matter of time before someone took a fall and didn’t run it off, Brooke going down in the last quarter.
The club wish her a speedy recovery. Last quarter was the Bears best, Danielle coming out shooting 8 goals almost doubling the score.
Despite best efforts from everyone on the court the Bears didn’t come away with the win, but happy with the improvements they are making.

Tungamah 7 defeated by Katunga 55.
Going into the game against Katunga the girls knew it was going to be a tough one with having 3 players out.
The defenders worked hard all day trying to get every rebound they could and get their hands onto the ball for intercepts to make it a turnover.
The mid courters pushed hard all game providing opportunities when they could. They also did some great passes into the goalies.
The shooters did a great job in the ring on the day. They were on tough defenders but did their best by following up any goal they may have missed and having hands over to create pressure. The scoreboard doesn’t represent how hard the girls played and how they never gave up and pushed to the end of the game.

Tungamah 11 defeated by Katunga 32.
The girls worked hard all game but unfortunately couldn’t get those four points. They came up against a tough team, but did well to compose themselves, working hard to get every ball they could.
The score didn’t reflect how hard the girls tried, as they showed great movement down the court to get it into the ring.
Lily was awarded players player for her hard work in defence, applying that pressure and creating multiple turnovers.
Febe listened to what the coaches had to say and implemented that into her game, showing her determination on the court.
Dimity was a standout with her very loud screaming on the court, showing her teammates that talking on the court can pay off.
Dim played a great game and attacked the ball hard with no fear. Bad luck girls, work hard for the next week and let’s hopefully get another win.

The girls played a great game against Katunga leading to the ball well. The attacks continued to come forward and feed the ball into the shooters who shot accurately.
All the midcourt players worked hard using powerful passes to bring the ball down to the goal third. Defenders were always in their toes, coming in front and taking awesome intercepts.
Everyone listened to the amazing coaches of Jen and Keely from the sidelines and adjusted their game when needed. Thanks to Deb for umpiring.
