“We are delighted with the finished product which provides a new front door to the College,” Principal Lew Nagle said.
“The facade of the building matches beautifully with the Sacred Heart Church and the extensive College green provides a natural link between the Wexford and Kennedy campuses.”
The building works were completed by Moretto Builders and involved local sub-contractors including IM & K M Currie, Steve Richmond Building Services, AXT Plumbing, Purtle Electrical, Chris Wilson Contracting and Argus & Ferguson painters.
“It was great to see several former students of Sacred Heart being involved in the construction of the new building,” Mr Nagle said.
The process for naming the new building will commence shortly and the formal opening ceremony will be conducted later in the year.
The project is part of $3 million worth of capital works which will be completed at the college within a two - and half-year period, its biggest capital investment since 2012.
With the completion of library and administration project, the College will commence the next phase of the masterplan which involves a $2.1m build and refurbishment of new student amenities, two new science labs and a STEM lab as well as a refurbishment of the senior study area.
