The stableford event sponsored by Caltex Tatura was played in windy, warm conditions.
The A-grade winner was Terri Wangeman with 38 points off a 17 handicap, a good effort in the windy conditions. Runner-up was Heather Long with 36 points.
The conditions suited Robyn Butler, who scored 41 points, giving her a convincing win in B-grade. Runner-up was Marita Cornwall with 36 points on countback.
Balls were awarded to Lyn Flett 36, Robyn Downs, Jan Coe and Bev Roberts 35 points.
A big welcome was given to two new golfers, Helen Murdoch and Rosemary Hepworth, who have recently obtained their handicaps.
Summer four-ball best-ball knockout: The first round has been completed, with the second round to be played by January 24.
Summer pennant: Hill Top women played Tocumwal in the first round of virtual pennant on Sunday, with competitive scores recorded. Results next week.
Nine-hole competition: Heather Wildes 14, Joyce Tavener 12.
Wednesday’s event: Stroke, Monthly Medal sponsored by Drummond Golf and Newton’s Parcel Service.
Nine-hole: Back Nine.
HILL TOP GOLF 10-1-2021 by Foozle
Matthew Taylor won his first GMCU Monthly Medal on Saturday with a round of 92-29-63, while Tom Phillips was the unlucky runner-up in C-grade with 84-20-64.
Danyel Dryden won A-grade with a round of 81-12-69 and Steve Whitting was runner-up with 79-9-70.
In B-grade, Neil McAntee won with 79-13-66 and Michael Downs was runner-up with 81-14-67.
Ball winners: John Dickinson and Bryce Wellington 67, Sean Martin and Allen Gale 69, Les Nation and Rocco Barca 70, Paul Cornelius and James Ibbotson 71, Michael Shannon, Terry Olney and Glenn Newton 72.
Cecilia Stewart from Bairnsdale Golf Club won the women’s competition with 39 stableford points, Heather Long was runner-up with 35 points and Jan Coe won a consolation ball, also with 35 points.
Midweek: Bruce Gross won Tuesday’s stableford competition with 39 points off an eight handicap, Col Saunders was runner-up with 36 on a countback, while line-balls went to Sean McAllister, Trevor Allen and Danyel Dryden 36, Bryan Miller 35 and Allen Gale 34.
The stableford competition on Thursday was won by Luke Davis with 41 points, Scott Carter was runner-up with 39, Graham Ellis had 37, Graham Meneilly 36 and Michael Downs 35.
Mat Langley Twilight: Good fields throughout the week continued with 52 starters on Thursday.
Ashley Blake, off a handicap of +2, won with 22 stableford points and Michael Downs was runner-up with 21.
Blake had birdies on the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th holes and an eagle four on the 4th hole by which time he was six under par.
Unfortunately, he bogeyed the par-3 9th hole, but his round was still good enough for the win.
Line-balls went to Trevor Wootton, Jack Risstrom and Michael Jeffers 20, Allen Gale, Phyl Fiddes, Brendan Ryan, Kane Wheelhouse and Francie Mark 19, Norm Elliott 18.
Coming events: There is a stableford competition on Tuesday, stroke on Thursday and there is a medley stableford on Saturday.
