Matt Daniel’s Tongala side (3-3) dropped three of its first four games of the season, but has since responded with two consecutive wins to climb back into the Murray Football League top six, albeit against bottom-two clubs Rumbalara and Tocumwal.
But it will be a stern round seven test against the third-placed Numurkah, who has lost just one game from its six starts this campaign.
A top-six scalp here, before the bye, could be just the springboard Tonny needs according to Daniel.
“It’s going to be a pretty important game,” Daniel said.
“We could be fighting Numurkah for one of those last final spots later in the season and a win this weekend will get us in front of the win-loss.
“We didn’t get much out of the 100-point wins, but I was pleased with our starts, we’ll be looking to do that again.”
Tongala looks poised to welcome Dom Watt back to its line-up, but the squad is far from settled for the clash.
“Dom Watt could be back but we’ll need to wait on selection to see about a few others,” Daniel said.
Meanwhile, Tongala’s A-grade netball side, sitting pretty at 6-0, will be aiming for its seventh straight win against a Numurkah outfit (2-4) keen to climb into the top eight.
