The season is slated to start on April 9, with Sunday games a huge feature of the football and netball fixture.
Eight of the 18 rounds include at least one Sunday clash, while a pair of games — Benalla vs Tatura and Shepparton United vs Shepparton — are slated for Good Friday.
Two split rounds have also been incorporated in July and August respectively, while interleague action is set to return on May 28 when the GVL plays host to traditional rival the Ovens and Murray League.
Grand final contests are scheduled for September 25 — the day after the AFL Grand Final.
"After a year that saw only 11 rounds played due to the impacts of COVID-19, we are eagerly looking forward to the return of football and netball in 2022. Round one kicks off on Saturday, April 9," GVL board chair David Roff said.
"We are pleased to also announce that clubs will host at least one home game on a Sunday next season.
"This is to help alleviate any umpire shortages that we saw during this season and expect to see next season as we see the return of community sport.
"The Sunday games will be a real feature of our fixture with some key clashes scheduled, such as the traditional Anzac Day matches Mooroopna vs Shepparton United and Euroa vs Seymour."
The opening round pits fierce rivals Echuca and Rochester against each other, followed by Tatura against Kyabram, Shepparton at home to Mooroopna, Benalla on the road at Seymour, Mansfield at Euroa and Shepparton Swans at home under lights against Shepparton United.
There are plenty of other highlights scattered throughout the fixture.
The league will host its Anzac Round in round three on April 23-24, with the Euroa and Seymour encounter the standout match.
The Indigenous Round will be contested in round 12 over July 2-3, with Shepparton and Euroa to play on the Sunday.
The first weekend of finals matches will be played out on September 3-4, followed by the semi-finals on September 10-11 and the preliminary finals on September 18.
The league said it was happy to have been able to meet club requests with the release of the draw.
"This year has shown just how vital community football and netball is," GVL operations manager Josephine Spencer said.
"It’s more than just a game. It’s about the connection people have to their clubs and its members, as well as to the league. We are looking forward to season 2022.
"This fixture sees all 25 club requests met which will go a long way in assisting clubs financially with key games, premiership reunions and traditional clashes scheduled."
