The Roos applied consistent pressure in all areas creating plenty of turnover opportunities.
Sophie Hanrahan’s defensive skills were once again on full display as she moved effortlessly around the court. Jen Barrett was also brilliant with her intercepts creating a headache for the opposition.
And while talented mid-courter Olivia Sinclair has been greatly missed following her season ending injury, Toni Lind has stepped up to the plate working superbly in the centre with Emily Laracy, Brooke Bice and Madi O’Keefe.
Grace Senior was also in form shooting 41 goals for the Roos.
While the Roos came away with a 28-point win over the Saints and remain undefeated at the mid-point of the season, Coach Georgie Bruce said there was still plenty of work to do in the remaining weeks.
“Obviously it feels good to have another win under our belt and we have set ourselves up for a great second half of the season, but we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves,” Georgie said.
“We’ve played all the sides now, so we have a rough understanding of the competition. There have been some teams who have had to deal with covid and injuries like ourselves, so they haven’t been at their strongest.
“We are also conscious of not just our town, but the entire competition’s expectations and the pressure to maintain our impeccable form. We finished as minor premiers last year so there is plenty of hype surrounding us.
“We haven’t allowed that pressure to get to us though, we are just focussing on what’s ahead and approaching each game with a quiet confidence.”
The Roos take a break this week before facing the Albury Tigers on July 2.
