Pettifer was initially sighted by the league’s match review panel for engaging in rough conduct against Andrew Walker in the Bombers’ round 15 loss to Echuca on July 31.
He was offered a set penalty, however Kyabram requested the incident be heard by the tribunal.
Pettifer appeared in front of the tribunal on Wednesday night, where he was found guilty and handed a two-match suspension.
The Bombers spearhead, who has kicked 16 goals from 10 matches this season, will now miss crucial clashes against Benalla and Mansfield as Kyabram fights for a top six finish.
He joins fellow star forward Kyle Mueller on the sidelines for this weekend.
Mueller was handed a two-game ban for intentionally striking a player in Kyabram’s round 14 loss to Seymour.
In the Kyabram District League, Avenel forward Tim Brook was handed an eight-week suspension for a report in the Swans’ loss to Nagambie in round 14, July 23.
Brook fronted the tribunal last Friday night, after the hearing was rescheduled twice, and was found guilty.
Brook was reported for behaving in an abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene manner towards or in relation to an umpire.
Lastly, Stanhope star Ryan Semmel was handed a reprimand on Wednesday night at the tribunal.
Semmel was reported for intentionally striking another player in the Lions’ two-point loss to Murchison-Toolamba at the weekend.
