The BodyBasics Dance Academy student qualified for the Australasian after receiving second place in Victoria last year. When Covid-19 hit Indya was unable to compete live and was judged via video submission.
She is now looking forward to competing again in the Victorian scholarships in June and hopefully qualifying for this year’s Australasian on the Gold Coast.
BodyBasics dance teacher Tanya Rixon said she was extremely proud of Indya’s efforts.
“We are really excited for her,” Ms Rixon said.
“It’s so nice to see country kids being recognised for their hard work. They don’t get to do these things very often, so to achieve fourth in the country is a huge deal.”
