The Yarroweyah Football and Netball Club made an eleventh hour plea to all current past and potential players last week, with the club in desperate need of playing numbers.
In a post on social media on March 15 , the Hoppers said the club’s current numbers for both senior football and netball were not satisfactory.
The post said that as it currently stood the club barely had enough senior players for two senior netball teams and one senior football team.
This left the club in an incredibly difficult position.
However the people of Yarroweyah answered the call.
Five days after the initial call to arms, the club made a further announcement - with things looking up — before things became official on Monday, with the Hoppers officially confirmed for season 2022.
The club made mention of all of the hard work behind the scenes, with positive vibes and encouragement, along with people raising their hands to help, helping get Yarroweyah back on its feet.
Training for senior netballers and footballers is held on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6pm at the Yarroweyah Recreation Reserve.
The 2022 Picola and District Football Netball League season is pencilled in to begin next Saturday, April 2.
