Colbinabbin was celebrating its first premiership in Goulburn Murray Cricket after a four-wicket win over Girgarre on Saturday.

Chasing Girgarre’s score of 9-124 off its 40 overs, Colbo completed the mission in 33 overs with four wickets in hand in the showdown at Bamawm.
Skipper and opener Hamish Hooppell and Brian Dwyer were the batters to send Colbo into the history books and premiership mode.
Hooppell went after the Girgarre bowlers, slamming seven fours and a six in his knock of 55 off 41 balls.
After Hooppell had lost his opening batting partner, his brother Xavier for a duck, first drop Dwyer joined Hooppell and they produced an 83-run second-wicket stand which set up the Colbo flag win.
Ryley Cowley with 2-27 off eight overs was the pick of the Girgarre bowlers.
Earlier in the day Connor Cowley (17) and Shaun Doolan (20) got Girgarre, batting first, away to a good start.
But many of its middle and late order batters failed, with the last five bats mustering only 10 runs between them.
The exception was Mitchell Fitzgerald whose 28 was the best contribution to the Girgarre score.
Fletcher White did the damage with the ball for Colbo with eight overs producing the fine figures of 5-20.
He was well supported by Dwyer with 2-15 off eight overs and Hamish and Xavier Hooppell with one wicket each in economical spells.
Stanhope’s comfortable flag win
Stanhope claimed GM Cricket’s B-grade flag in comfortable fashion with a 41-run win over Echuca at Tongala Recreation Reserve.
Winning the toss and batting, Luke Twynstra held Stanhope’s innings together with a dominant knock of 61, which included six boundaries, off 75 balls after three top order teammates had failed.
Opener Bradd Stewart who made 23 off 22 balls and Twynstra along with support from Lachlan West (27) and Matt Evans (13) enabled Stanhope to post 162 off its 40 overs.
In reply Echuca could manage only 121 with Connor Shannon top scoring with 31 and young Easton Carlisle with a determined 19 putting up the most resistance after a sensational spell of bowling from Jayke Fisher who claimed 5-3 off seven overs

Echuca edges out Fire Brigade
Moama secured the C-grade flag at the expense of Kyabram Fire Brigade in the clash at Kyabram’s Northern Oval.
Winning the toss and batting Fire Brigade posted a respectable 8-164 with opener Corey Carver top scoring with 41 off 62 balls.
Young talent Matt Fleming produced a handy knock of 29 late in the innings, while Zac Cerrone (21) Kaleb Williams (18) and skipper Sam Vick (14) also made contributions to The Flames’ score.
But Echuca was always in the box seat in its run chase when its top order, openers Adam Luckman (48), James Simpson (23) and first drop Jayden Dixon with an unbeaten 49 with seven boundaries seized the initiative and guided their side to a five-wicket win.
Steve Grima with 2-36 off eight overs was the only multiple wicket-taker for The Flames.
Veteran inspires Rushworth win
Peter Raglus showed you are never too old if you don’t want to be with a gallant knock of 44 in Rushworth’s flag-winning score of 3-145 against Echuca in the season decider at Brose Oval Tongala.
At the crease in the stifling conditions and in the competition named in his honour the 66-year-old Rushworth legend faced 103 balls and hit three fours .
He shared an opening stand of 31 with Brett Pateman (18) and 90 for the second wicket with Jak McMillan who top scored with an unbeaten 50 off 42 balls with three fours and a six.
Peter Francis with an unbeaten 17 and Jac Barrett with 12 not out gave a late boost as the Tigers built a competitive score of 3-145 off their 45 overs.
Echuca looked in the hunt in its run chase when openers Xavier Carmichael (23) and Ashley Smith (28) provided a positive start with a 56-run stand.
But when they fell the Tigers’ bowlers pounced and with Barrett and McMillan both bagging three wickets and 11-year-old Heath Ogden two, Rushworth regained the initiative and claimed the flag with three overs to spare and 36 runs in credit as Echuca succumbed for 109.
It is Rushworth’s third flag in this grade and its fourth for the club since the amalgamation of the former Campaspe and Kyabram cricket associations in 2013.
