The round-robin competition was held at the Mercury Drive sports complex in Shepparton, with Benalla, Castlemaine, Echuca, Shepparton United and Tatura competing for glory.
It was Castlemaine which took out the title on the day, defeating Echuca in an entertaining grand final clash.
Players from all teams managed to get some vital pre-season minutes into their legs and Tatura coach Sam Green said he hoped it would be an uninterrupted season.
“It was good, well attended and it was our first cup as a team and first time playing together with new players getting to know each other,” Green said.
“It was great to play in the cup as one team after playing with Benalla, with good camaraderie and flexibility among the group.”
