At the junior presentation evening in Moama on Monday night, Thornton was named Junior Coach of the Year.
The Berrigan fourths were undefeated throughout the home and away season and will be playing in the preliminary finals this weekend.
While the players themselves have put a lot of effort into the result, the Berrigan Football Netball Club said it is large part to Thorton’s coaching style too.
“Craig’s passion and hard work is evident each year, and he is such a driving force in the club,” the club said.
One district player managed to poll well in the vote counts to take out a best and fairest award in the under-13s netball.
It went to Lily Petersen from the Blighty Netball Club.
