Showing she’s most comfortable in black and white, Alicia Rowan banged home 15 of Shepparton South’s 24 goals in a slaughtering of Swan Hill on Sunday.
Once the whistle sounded, the Bendigo Amateur Soccer League Women’s Championship wizard took just four minutes to grab her first, 10 to bury a hat-trick and 23 for her double hat-trick.
Jessie Barassi and Samantha Mackay also bulged the net early on, while an own goal and three more for Rowan had South up by 12 at the half.
The onslaught didn’t stop there.
Second half braces for Aimee Stanyer and Cayla Ruijters were supplemented by goals from Isabella Pellegrino and Mikayla Rowan, while sister Alicia smashed in another six for kicks.
Unsurprisingly, Rowan's clinic sent “The Assassin” top of the goal-scoring charts with 19, and dragged South right back into the race where it now sits in fifth place.
Sliding to the other end of the scale, a shock loss lay in store for Shepparton United.
Pitted against Strathdale, Gabrielle Dwyer’s previously unbeaten Blues were downed 2-1 in a match-up which may repeat come September.
Strathdale’s enigmatic forward Bridget Meadows rippled McEwen Reserve’s net first in the 29th minute, then again not long after half-time to create pandemonium in the away end.
Though Maria Villani chimed in with her 10th of the season late in the game, Strathdale held nerve to collect three points on the road.
And lastly, promising signs continue to arise for Tatura despite results not falling its way.
The young Ibises held Moama-Echuca scoreless for half an hour, and went into the sheds a goal down as Asha Davies bagged before the break.
Davies came out ravenous in the second stanza, however, bagging three more to have the scores read 4-0 at full time.
