Nagambie stalwart Sarah Sanderson celebrated her 200th club appearance in style on Saturday.
The three-time A-grade premiership winner helped the Lakers secure a comfortable 14-goal win over fellow top-four outfit Murchison-Toolamba.
The 53-39 victory keeps the Lakers’ undefeated record in the Kyabram District League A-grade season intact after four rounds of action.
Sanderson, a former coach of the Lakers, said she was proud to bring up the milestone with her lifelong club.
“I haven't played anywhere else, I started my netball here at Nagambie,” she said.
“It's nice recognition for all the time you put in and I'm sure I'll look back and reflect over the coming days.
“It was a great to get the win, especially because Murch have been in serious form and have had some good wins this season.”
Although Sanderson has been a staple in the Lakers’ outfit over the past decade, don't expect to see the talented defender suit up for many games in 2021.
The mother of two has decided to take a backward step from the hustle and bustle of playing this season to focus on family and work commitments.
However, the 31-year-old said she was "happy to help out" during the year when called upon by coach Katie Sullivan.
“I've only been filling in if they need a hand,” she said
“I'm in the background if they need me and they needed an extra hand on Saturday with some players unavailable.
“I have got two small kids and I recently started a business, so I just couldn't commit to playing.
“The club has got a couple of exciting young players coming through and I'm more than happy to sit back and let them play.
“It's a bit of a changing of the guard, which is great for the club and hopefully the next group can come through and enjoy some success.”
