A dominant round 15 performance at the weekend against Echuca-Rochester has helped the Warriors widen the gap between them and second-placed Shepparton Hornets.
Numurkah thumped Echuca-Rochester 8-75 to 2-41 on its home deck, with early dominance in the men's singles rubbers the perfect platform for sealing victory.
Mark Mills defeated Corey Nexhip (8-6) in the opening set, while Nick Fenaughty was too strong for Connor Gledhill (8-3 in the second.
In the remaining GM1 contests, both Shepparton outfits, the Hornets and Lakers, claimed big wins against Rich River Rebels (6-64 to 4-50) and Shepparton Bulls (7-75 to 3-54) respectively.
● At GM2 level, Stanhope-Mooroopna almost pulled off a remarkable upset win against finals-bound Numurkah Raiders.
The Raiders clawed their way back from the jaws of defeat and won the final three sets to prevail 6-58 to 5-61
The combine held a two-set advantage after eight sets, thanks to sublime tennis from Fleur Nurse, Corey Brown, Petra Donaldson and Margaret Haw.
But the Raiders had ice in their veins to win the final three sets, 8-6, 8-7, 8-5.
Meanwhile, all four Shepparton outfits, the Giants, Lions, Saints and Pelicans enjoyed comfortable victories.
● Lastly, at GM3 level, Kialla Park suffered a narrow loss to Dhurringile, walking away from the contest with a 4-53 to 5-62 defeat.
And ladder-leader Tongala continued on its winning way with an impressive 6-63 to 3-41 win against Mooroopna.
