After knocking off fellow finals aspirant Mooroopna last round, the Redbacks kept rolling by tracking down the Blues’ 139 with three wickets in hand.
Opener Billy McLay was the star of the show, holding strong to provide a backbone for the chase as other Redbacks batsmen struggled with Numurkah's dynamic bowling set-up.
Kyabram was in trouble early at 2-5 with Paul Parsons (duck) and Cade Mueller (one) back in the sheds, but Kyle Fitzgerald (12) and McLay steadied the ship.
But after Fitzgerald fell, the Blues could sniff a huge win after picking up the vital scalp of Kyle Mueller for just nine, with the Redbacks in a degree of trouble at 4-70.
While McLay kept patiently accumulating, he eventually fell for 52 off 148 balls, caught behind off Matt Cline's bowling to leave Kyabram 5-95.
Two wickets in two balls for Liam Gledhill had the Blues even more up and about at 7-105, before Paul Newman and Angus McKenzie knuckled down and navigated the team across the line.
The Redbacks pushed on, with McKenzie (19), Newman (46) and Charlie McLay (22 not out) adding late runs before they were bowled out for 177.
The win kept Kyabram second on the ladder, guaranteeing it finals with one game to play and giving it a chance to pinch first place should Numurkah drop more points this weekend.
THE GAME
Numurkah 139 (Dylan Grandell 66, Tim Braybon 25, Angus McKenzie 4-33, Jackson McLay 3-31) lt Kyabram 177 (Billy McLay 52, Paul Newman 46, Liam Gledhill 2-16, Shaun Downie 2-17)
STAR PLAYER
Billy McLay (Kyabram): Has quickly become a rock at the top of the order, sticking strong and making a half-century after his side had slumped to 2-5. Without him, things may well have been over early.
