Once again this week we played the same team on Tuesday and Saturday.

This time we played Tatura-Hill Top and once again we won on Tuesday and lost on Saturday.
We had a big win on Tuesday thanks to Rob Dennis, Carol Firmer, Neil Gardiner and Lee Chant, who beat big K.H. Smith by 22 shots.
Merrigum started slowly and was being thwarted by the driving tactics of the opposition skipper.
However, once he started to miss the fire went out of the game and Merrigum continued to pile on the points.
They only allowed THT to win two ends after smoko.
All players played their part and Lee Chant was a real success as a leader. Well done!
Joe Chant, Wayne Shepherd, Noreen Earl and Carmen Quattrocchi drew Joyce Andrus and won by three shots and had their hands full all day.
The scores were level on five occasions and neither side could gain a real break.
With two ends to play the scores level and Merrigum managed to win these ends and gain a valuable two points.
In the last game Barry Parsons went down to Barry Ibbott by five shots.
They led by three shots after three ends, but trailed by five shots after 10 ends.
So for the next 20 ends the match was even, unfortunately Merrigum had one bad period and that cost them the game.
On Saturday at Tatura we never won a game.
This was disappointing, but the new combined clubs now have a much bigger number of players to pick from and they will certainly play finals for many years to come.
Rob Dennis lost to Laurie Merritt by six shots, but was only two shots down with the last end to play.
Joe Chant lost to Ray Flett by seven shots, but won more ends.
David Pettifer lost to Gary Mansfield by seven shots.
In the last game Gary Mott drew Rod Piggott and was beaten by 13 shots.
John Bailey reached the semi-finals of the championship on Thursday night.
This is John’s first time in the finals and we wish him all the best.
Sunday is our Ethel Younger Memorial day and we invite all players, friends and beginners to join us for an enjoyable afternoon.
Don’t forget a plate, your uniform and $5.
If you don’t have a club uniform just wear something casual.
Names in by 12.45pm please.
Good to hear that John Firmer is home and all went well with his knee replacement.
Special thanks to the Merrigum café for their efforts with our Thursday night event.
I can thoroughly recommend Rhonda to all and sundry.
She is always willing to help the local community.
