“It was a good result for us first up (after the Christmas break),” he told the Pastoral Times.
“We were happy to post 180 and we backed ourselves to defend that total.
“We unfortunately had blokes who had starts, but couldn't go on.
“That came down to both getting back into it and some bad shots. A couple of blokes were unlucky with decisions, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.
“It was good to see a couple of older guys back in the runs and also spend some time at the crease.
“Ash (Germano) and Brodie (Bennett) had a good partnership to set us up for that total. It was good to see Brodie play some shots and get a good score, it will do the world of good for him looking into the end of the year
“Ash will play a similar role for us moving forward as an older head batting through the middle overs.”
