The Central Park-St Brendan’s export slashed a run-a-ball 40 down the order to steer his Men’s Premier Firsts outfit to a huge total of 362 against Greenvale.
The all-rounder will set about defending the total on Saturday when play resumes.
Other familiar faces found the going tougher at the top level.
Former Old Students and Karramomus player James Billington is already into his second dig for Prahran, making 10 in the first innings against Melbourne before ending the day on five not out after his side was sent back in before stumps.
Katandra’s Daniel Sartori is also unbeaten at stumps, with his Monash Tigers chasing a mammoth 385 for victory against Essendon.
Sartori is unbeaten on five after seeing out six overs at the end of day one.
Elsewhere, Karramomus’ Josh McDonald made 16 in Geelong’s total of 8-327 declared, while Todd Murphy’s St Kilda outfit is in a strong position despite the Moama export failing to snare a wicket with the ball.
Brayden McGregor was unlucky to miss out in the Men’s Premier Seconds for Carlton, falling for no score after two big partnerships had gone before him.
The Central Park product’s side still made 9-355 though to put itself in the box seat against Camberwell.
Also in the second tier, fellow former Tigers Tyler and Josh Larkin were in the runs for Geelong.
Tyler made 35 at the top of the order, with Josh compiling 45 at first-drop — the pair combining for a partnership of 46 for the second wicket.
The Cats finished with 264 from their innings.
Andrew Poppa continued his great run of form for Carlton in the Men’s Premier Thirds, making 72 in a total of 186.
The Karramomus product briefly shared the crease with Central Park’s Brayden Tracey, but the latter was out for two.
The knock gives Poppa 166 runs at 55.33 since dropping back to the thirds three matches ago.
