As well as a who's who of Cricket Shepparton stars, the list contains a healthy smattering of guns from neighbouring competitions — along with a few more speculative nominations from players in the lower grades.
But the beauty of the league is that franchise coaches and captains will have the opportunity to mine for their own respective diamonds in the rough with the later picks in the draft.
Either way the battle to be crowned the first number one selection in the draft will certainly be a heated one — especially with the general public able to participate in a "Tip the Top 4" competition.
Tipping forms will be available at the Sherbourne Hotel on draft day — with proceedings beginning at 12.30 pm — for $5 an entry, with the aim of the competition to pick each of the top four selections in the order they are taken by the franchises.
Selecting the number one pick in order will garner five points down to two for selection four, with one point for any top four player picked in the wrong position.
The winner will receive half the total pool with the other half added to the overall prize pool for the league.
A full rundown of the nominations will be distributed after the deadline closes and will also be available at the Sherbourne Hotel on draft day, but there are a few standouts who will be highly tipped among the top few selections.
Cobram master blaster Wian Van Zyl — who has been clubbing runs for fun for the Tigers since the start of the last Murray Valley Cricket Association season — leads the way alongside fellow MVCA stars Adam De Cicco (Cobram) and Riley Gow (Barooga).
Goulburn Murray Cricket could be well represented near the top of the order by the likes of Tongala's Darin Ohlsen and Daniel Coombs or Kyabram Fire Brigade's Anthony DePasquale, while familiar faces Layton and Alistair McCann have also put their hand up.
In terms of the Cricket Shepparton entrants the likes of Tatura captain Michael Archer, Kyabram skipper Kyle Mueller, Katandra all-rounder Scott Richardson, Waaia star Jordan Cleeland, Karramomus tearaway Angus Heslin, Shepparton United captain Dwain Vidler, Central Park-St Brendan's veteran Ramadan Yze, Northerners jet Joel Brett, Numurkah opener Dylan Grandell and a plethora of other guns have nominated, but some glaring omissions to this stage include fellow Blues Liam Gledhill and Shaun Downie, Nagambie brothers Mark and Luke Nolan, Mooroopna imports Henry Barrow and Shoaib Shaikh, Euroa match-winner Mahesh Priyadarshana and Old Students skipper Felix Odell.
Joining those with no need to put their hand up is freshly signed marquee Josh McDonald.
The former Karramomus — and current Geelong — wicketkeeper has signed for the Jarvis Delahey Crushers.
The Cobram Panel Works Panthers will also be taking on the Crane Aid GVBBL, with the other two franchises yet to fully finalise their team name and ownership details.
The Ethnic Council of Shepparton and District has also jumped on board to sponsor the umpires and officials of the league.
The News will be chatting to all four teams in the lead up to the draft as the most exciting competition to hit regional Victorian cricket heats up.
