Pre-tournament favourites Lee Schraner, Brad Marron and Jay Bye-Norris won all their three matches to move through, topping a group that included Tongala's team of Steven Usher, Brad and Barry Tinning.
But reigning champions Russell Locke, Mitch Sidebottom and Matt Robertson were also in fine form, going 3-0 to head through as well.
● In women's triples, Mooroopna's Stacey Collier continued an outstanding Open by winning through to the knockout stages.
