At Memorial Oval, the Magpies were on the ropes at 5-51 and 7-88, but fought back with strength, scrapping together 171 before being bowled out on the first day of the match.
But by stumps they had well and truly cemented favouritism, finding the vital wickets of Bloods batsmen Mitch McGrath and Michael Mandaradoni to leave Karramomus in a spot of bother at 2-23.
Early, the Bloods looked as if they could roll the Magpies for less than 100, with Jason Ibbotson (3-35) and Lachie Keady (2-23) tearing through the top order.
The Magpies were 3-16 after Josh Robertson and Sean Hemeter got ducks, with Declan Redfern's 15 the only thing keeping the score ticking along.
Mahesh Priyadarshana (40) dug in while the wickets kept tumbling at the other end, and when he was caught behind off Chris Keady's (2-21) bowling, Euroa was reeling at 6-87, and soon after things got worse as Lucas Paul (14) fell to make it 7-88.
But the fightback started there, with Nathan Abley taking over and carving a tasty 54.
He found help from number 11 bat Andrew Crosbie (19 not out), the duo adding 55 for the 10th wicket to turn a low total into a defendable one.
Crosbie would make an early impact with the ball, trapping McGrath LBW for five, before Brad Gleeson did the same to Mandaradoni to leave Karramomus 2-8.
Nathan Laffy (two not out) and Luke Forge (nine not out) got through to stumps, with the Bloods needing 148 more runs on day two to claim victory.
THE GAME
Euroa 171 (Nathan Abley 54, Mahesh Priyadarshana 40, Jason Ibbotson 3-35) v Karramomus 2-23 (Luke Forge 9 not out, Andrew Crosbie 1-8)
STAR PLAYER
Nathan Abley (Euroa): While Abley's rollercoaster season has him with scores of 0, 25, 0 and 54, his maiden Haisman Shield half-century was absolutely vital. Helped the team recover from 5-51 and take over the contest.
