A new season of Shepparton Junior Tennis Association action started on Saturday, with some thrilling contests staged across the grades.

In the A1-A2 division, Shepparton Lawn Green and Mooroopna Cats White played out an exciting draw, with scores tied 4-35 apiece after the final ball was struck.
Mooroopna's Hayden Pearce was the only player to have a perfect record in the even clash, claiming his singles match 6-4, before teaming up with Sam Macadam to win a doubles tie 6-3.
Shepparton's Sam Brown, Fred Thompson and Clara Lukies were all involved in two set wins across the fixture as well.
â—� Other results in the grade saw Kialla Park Blue defeat Shepparton Lawn Red 5-36 to 3-27 and Shepparton Lawn Blue (6-44) in front of Kialla Park Gold (2-26).
Kialla Park Blue's roster of Max Crowe, Rohan Simpson, Mason Tucker, Josh Cecil and Sam Kennedy were all involved in set victories in the overall win, while Hugh Jackson and Lucas Kennedy-Power flew the flag for Shepparton Lawn Red.
Tallygaroopna's return to the SJTA competition was a successful one, winning its Doubles Two clash against Kialla Park 5-38 to 0-10.
Shepparton Lawn Blue in the same grade and in the D1 division, McEwen Reserve in B2 and Toolamba in B1 were the other outfits to complete a clean sweep of the sets in round one and kick their respective seasons off in fine fashion.

The C2 contest fell the way of Gold in a 6-40 to 2-25 result.
