With a finals spot still up for grabs, Benalla (seventh) and Rochester (sixth) will fight it out at the Benalla Showgrounds to extend their season.
The loser will be denied entry into the final month of the season.
Unless the sides tough out a draw and Tatura (fifth) and Seymour (fourth) lose, then due to Benalla and Rochester's high percentages, they would each sneak through on 38 points.
The Saints will go in with confidence from when they defeated Rochester in round seven by 65 points.
However, the Tigers enter tomorrow with three straight wins, while the Saints have lost their past two.
Liam Bartels is firing in attack for the Tigers, with 13 goals from the past three weeks, while Mitch Bright has led the midfield brigade.
"Our past three weeks have been really solid," Rochester coach James Flaherty said.
"But we know it won't be an easy game.
"We always have good contests against them (Benalla), and they have a pretty strong midfield and forward line."
For the Saints, they are coming off a tough 63-point loss against Shepparton last weekend
Benalla's James Martiniello said last week's loss simplified the task at hand.
"The loss last weekend really simplifies things for us - win and we are through." Martiniello said.
"It's a winner-takes-all match.
"We've just got to play our best footy, all the boys are really excited for the challenge.
"Last time we got a good result over them and we'll take confidence from that match.
"But we know they have been playing good footy and it'll be a good contest."
Rochester will head into tomorrow's match without brave skipper Nathan Marrone and forward Tim Letcher.Â
The duo were suspended at the league's tribunal on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, Benalla is set to be without gun forward Brody Webster, who suffered a groin injury last weekend against Shepparton.
It is set to be a gripping round of football, with supporters of four clubs set to be desperate for live updates.
But those in attendance at Benalla tomorrow will have their eyes set firmly on the live football playing out in front of them, waiting for what twist and turn might occur in this script.
