Mooroopna
The ANZAC service in Mooroopna is always well attended and expertly managed by Mooroopna Rotary. This year, the iconic setting was marred by vandals who damaged the bollard lights and smashed one of the photographic displays.
There may be some readers of The News who could explain the behaviour of these morons, but I am not interested. As a ratepayer, I would like to see this pathetic behaviour cease and prosecute the idiots involved.
I would encourage other readers of The News to consider writing to the paper expressing their opinions, but I would like to see the council install CCTV cameras under the cupola (facing east and west), with recordings being made and monitored in the council offices in Welsford St.
Many changes have occurred at the Mooroopna War Memorial and the associated gardens since their dedication on Anzac Day in 1928, nearly 100 years ago. The facility is unmatched in the region and, in my opinion, should be maintained in good condition — as it has been.
