Police are appealing for witnesses following two suspicious bin fires in Shepparton on Sunday morning.
Shepparton police Detective Senior Constable Jacob Sinclair said a Greater Shepparton City Council garbage bin located outside Tirana City Walk on Welsford St was set alight just after 1.20am.
One Country Fire Authority unit from Shepparton attended the blaze.
The fire, which was contained to the inside of the bin, was quickly extinguished and the site deemed safe.
While at the scene of the first fire, Sen Const Sinclair said a second bin was set alight along the walking track near the intersection of Welsford St and Midland Hwy.
The same CFA unit attended the second fire just after 1.35am which they also quickly extinguished.
Sen Const Sinclair said both fires were being treated as suspicious, and urged anyone with information about the incidents to come forward.
