Since Tuesday last week, police have received three formal break and enter reports.
It also received one report of malicious damage at a business, which police say could be considered an attempted break-in.
With police still actively gathering details on some of the incidents as the Pastoral Times went to print yesterday, Acting Inspector Brett Collins said there may even be other incidents not yet reported.
Act Insp Collins said one of the break-ins occurred at a local school, and one at a retail premises.
One was also reported at a residence in west Deniliquin.
The malicious damage occurred at a Harfleur St business.
While the premises was entered, the Pastoral Times believes nothing has yet been reported as missing.
One other theft has been reported in the past seven days, but Act Insp Collins said it is unclear whether it is linked to the others.
It was a steal from motor vehicle incident reported in Harfleur St, Deniliquin.
“Police are reviewing whatever CCTV is available to us, but anyone with information in relation to any of these incidents is asked to come forward,” Act Insp Collins said.
“They can contact CrimeStoppers on 1300 333 000 or the Deniliquin Police Station on 5881 9299.
“We also encourage all residents to take extra steps to secure their homes, businesses and properties, and especially with vehicles.
“One of the things people can do, and it might seem a little silly, but you should not leave your keys in an open area of your home.
“It’s a shame we have to go to that sort of trouble, but it is better to take precautions.”
