His legacy continues to live on through the Jarrod Lyle Junior Classic, named after the late golfer for his contribution to his junior club and sport.
Lyle sadly died last year after a long battle with cancer.
Raised in Shepparton and a regular player at SGC — before travelling the world as a professional golfer — Lyle's home club will reflect on his life next weekend.
Next Saturday is the golf club's 'Doing It For Jarrod Day', as it helps to raise money for Challenge, an organisation that supports children diagnosed with cancer.
On the Sunday, up-and-coming junior golfers will light up the course in the sixth instalment of the Jarrod Lyle Junior Classic.
Mark Washington — who helped create the junior classic and name it after Lyle — spoke about the upcoming edition of the junior classic.
"This is the sixth year since it started," Washington said.
"It means a lot to me, as a friend, it was the least I could do.
"There will be a bit of a reflection on the impact he made to the sport and the people who knew him.
"And the junior classic is all about the kids and getting them out on the course and having a great time.
"Hopefully we can keep it (junior classic) going for many years to come."
Washington said Lyle always tried to be involved with the junior classic, even when he couldn't attend in 2017, he provided a video message for the winner.
"Jarrod was a big supporter of the classic," he said.
"He made a couple of appearances and when he was in hospital in December 2017, he sent through a video message for the winner.
"It just shows the type of person he was.
"He was a club champion and an all-round champion fella too."
Next Saturday's event is a stroke round for men and women and players will be asked for a gold coin donation for the Challenge foundation.
Washington said the 'Doing It For Jarrod Day' was a great way to help raise awareness for Challenge and was expecting a great weekend at the club.
"It's great to have a day to help raise money for Challenge and for many it's a day to reflect on Jarrod's life," he said.
"It's going to be a fantastic weekend at the club."
For Sunday's junior classic will be at least $2000 worth of prizes to be won and lunch supplied for all players.
