In 2022, Susan Cartlidge was going through a rough patch, and her daughter Rochelle Telford suggested she get herself a companion.
“I thought it would be a good idea to have a companion and, as it's turned out, he (Remy) is a magnificent companion,” Mrs Cartlidge said.
Her husband, Alan Cartlidge, agreed.
“He’s beside her all the time,” he said.
Mrs Cartlidge commended Remy on his ability to help her through a tough time, giving her love and letting her love him.
“He gave me unconditional love,” she said.
"He was also just something else to focus on.
“Unconditional love and having something there all the time.
“It helped.”

But Remy didn’t stop there; while Mrs Cartlidge had COVID-19, he was the number one nurse on duty.
“He slept on the pillow beside her all day,” Mr Cartlidge said.
“He never left.”
Remy lives the high life, being surrounded by toys, food and love at all times.
“I’m constantly trying to find new things to entertain him,” Mrs Cartlidge said.
With new gifts and treats being bought for Remy, his house has become full of toys and climbing trees, everything a cat could want.
He even enjoys watching bird videos on TV. Everything Remy does is adored by the people who love him.

“He’s just perfect,” Mrs Cartlidge said.
Remy is never quiet about his opinions, chattering at the birds and yelling around the house.
“He talks. He talks non-stop,” Mrs Cartlidge said.
Since joining the Cartlidge household, Remy has gone on myriad adventures, such as road trips and camping.
“He loved camping,” Mrs Cartlidge said.
“He learned to climb trees.”

Remy’s family is never far away, with his brother Ferris and half-brother Winston living with Mrs Cartlidge’s daughter and family.
“He goes on play dates with his brother at least once a week,” Mrs Cartlidge said.
“He goes over and has a wonderful time.”
Remy has the love of his entire family, and the Cartlidges are grateful to have him.
“He’s brought many, many wonderful and delightful moments into our life,” Mrs Cartlidge said.
