All three of the sitting candidates for Greater Murray - which incorporates Mathoura - have renominated.
Three other candidates have chosen to stand against them.
In the Moama ward, two sitting councillors will come against five new candidates.
The full list of candidates for both wards, in ballot order, are as follows:
Greater Murray: Norman Berger, Joy Allan, Kylie Berryman, Geoff Wise, Thomas Weyrich, Kronrod Nicholas.
Moama: John Harvie, Graeme Blow, Chris Bilkey, Frank Crawley, Gen Campbell, John Ludeman, Bianca Hurn.
There will be no election in Wakool this year, which only just received the minimum number of candidates to fill the three seats.
As a result, current Deputy Mayor Neil Gorey of Barham and Dennis Gleeson of Calimo will be re-elected to their positions on council uncontested.
With Ann Crow choosing not to renominate, her seat has been given to the only other candidate from the ward - Gary Pappin of Mellool.
In today’s edition we start introducing you to some of the candidates running in Murray, starting with the Greater Murray ward. More profiles will appear next week.
