A local MP has called for clarity on the major Goulburn Valley Hwy intersection upgrade at Ford Rd-Wanganui Rd after the latest Victorian budget revealed further delays.
State Member for Northern Victoria Wendy Lovell voiced her concerns in parliament last week.
“The Minister for Transport Infrastructure must confirm when the upgrade works on the Goulburn Valley Hwy intersection with Ford Rd-Wanganui Rd will begin and when they will be completed,” Ms Lovell said.
The 2017-18 budget initially allocated funds for a major upgrade of the intersection.
However, four years past the projected finish date of 2020, construction is yet to begin.
The 2024-25 budget indicates a revised completion date of October to December 2024, attributing the delay to a lack of design finalisation.
No final design has been announced.
“If the final intersection design is yet to be announced and construction has not begun, I fail to see how the Labor Government will meet the revised completion date of quarter two 2024-25 as listed in the latest budget,” Ms Lovell said.
