Yarrawonga Mulwala and Tungamah communities raised a wonderful overall total of $74,974 for this year’s Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

Tallies from appeal organisers show Tungamah raising $34,000 Yarrawonga $33,093 and Mulwala $7,881.
Devenish Dookie and district were magnificent, raising $193,240 – the third highest in regional Victoria. Ballarat raised $218,246 and Geelong topped the regions with $234,097.
Neighbours Corowa Wahgunyah raised $156,696 ahead of Albury $126,131, Wodonga $121,967 and Wangaratta $121,262 – all excellent contributions.

The Victorian community generously donated for the kids, raising a grand total of $23,368,724, with an outstanding $5,261,913 effort contributed by regional Victoria and Southern New South Wales!
Across the region, a number of Good Friday events were also held, raising money for the appeal as well as local families in need, with plenty of locals and visitors getting out and about to donate to this very worthwhile cause.
Yarrawonga Fire Brigade First Lieutenant Simon Crawford described the day as ”fantastic”. “The day was really well supported and raised a good amount,” he said.
“I say a big thank you to the CFA and SES and all other volunteers, and the general public for their support.”
Outstanding individual fundraising efforts occurred. At Tungamah, youngster Jameson Dickens recently decided to have his four-year-old long locks shortened substantially, hoping to raise $500 for the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
“This amazing 11-year-old superseded his own expectations,” a Tungamah Social Club spokesperson advised. “Through the overwhelming community support and so many people getting behind Jameson he raised a whopping $4221.20.”
Some tough hill running was included in Tim Roadley’s 22km run from Devenish to Dookie. The local identity raised an excellent individual effort of $3,187.00.
