Devoted to supporting local students reach their full potential, Wanganui Park Secondary College's Brenda O'Brien has been acknowledged for 40 years of service, while Janet Gill Kirkman from Verney Rd School, Maureen Munro of Guthrie St Primary School and Jeffrey Trevaskis from Mooroopna Secondary College have been recognised for 45 years.
Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp congratulated the four on their achievements.
"On behalf of our community and the many young people whose lives have changed through education, I wish to congratulate and thank all our long-serving teachers, principals and school staff for their years of hard work," he said.
"Their dedication provides the foundation on which our communities are built."
Minister for Education James Merlino said it was important to acknowledge those who support us during our formative years.
"Everyone remembers an inspiring teacher, educator or principal who inspired passions or offered support to reach their full potential," he said.
"These award recipients have dedicated their careers to public education, helping thousands of students and multiple generations of Victorians, over many decades.�
The four local staff members were invited to attend the Department of Education and Training Recognition of Service ceremony which took place in Melbourne on Sunday.
